The staff were rude, especially the Chinese young lady at the cashier. During the meal, we had to stand up to let other. We were given a very small table which was very close to other tables and blocked the passage. This is the most disappointed restaurant I have visited in Italy. Dining is not cheap in Milan, but you have to remember it is an expensive city in general. The Cuperto are always mentioned first, so just make sure you are not being conned. A reduction of €2.50 wouldn’t have made a huge difference to our bill, but the whole episode was sneaky and underhand – I hope the restaurant owner reads this review! This was our first meal out in Milan and it taught us a lesson for the meals that followed over the period of our holiday.
There two entries at the top of our bill for the two of us, but on checking through the bill later I discovered another Cuperto was added further down.
On your bill it will be listed as Cuperto. Be very careful when dining in Italy – you can be easily stung for extra ‘covers’ – this is the charge they place on your bill for sitting in the restaurant! It varies from €2 to €2.50 and in this particular restaurant it is €2.50 per person. The meal was good and the service was prompt, staff friendly enough. and mains of Crispy Beef and Shrimp and Broccoli, both with rice. We had two starters and two mains – we both had different soups for starters. It was very quiet initially but filled up very quickly. This restaurant was near our hotel (the Ibis) so it was handy to pop across the road for a meal.
